a very sad event

This is a really hard post to write, but our beautiful cat, our baby girl of 15 years, passed away suddenly on Wednesday night. We have planted some trees and some daises that should grow in full sun and laid her to rest at the new house. We are devastated that she won't get to enjoy sunning herself on the new deck, and having the room to properly play chasey running up and down the stairs and hide and seek up and down the hallway like we had planned.  And just enjoying the peace and quiet from the neighbours barking dogs and sirens from the main road. It is hard being at either house, where we are everything reminds us of her and the little habits we had formed without realising, and when we are at the new house we don't want to leave.

I will continue blogging about our build but it may be a bit more haphazard than a weekly update.

  1. Sorry to hear about your cat. She looks a lot like our girl who went missing a couple of days before Christmas. It is sad to know that they won't be with us on our new adventures.

  2. So sorry that your cat passed away. She is identical to my cat Dante, who has been living with his grandparents on 10 acres in country Victoria for the last 3 years we've been house hunting & building. He's not likely to move back to the city when we get our house as he's pushing 13 yrs old now and nicely settled at Mum & Dad's.

I feel for your loss :(

  3. Sorry to hear about your cat Mel. I don't know what I would do without our dog, Rufus! I keep saying to him "when we're in the new house you can have a new bed" etc - would be very hard to move into a new house with someone missing.

  4. So sorry Nat. I have a little Maltese Shih Tzu so can totally relate. Hope you are feeling better soon :-(

  5. Sorry to read this :( I know how upsetting this is, hang in there.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment on my Blog :-)
